MISSION STATEMENT
To provide the safest, most highly skilled craftsmen for the Plumbing, Pipefitting, and HVAC industries in Southeast Michigan, enabling our Contractors and Clients to remain competitive.
ABOUT US
Our story begins on March 20, 1937 when Local 671 was chartered by a courageous group of thirteen Plumbers. Since that time, Local 671 has grown significantly in membership and has served Monroe County in many capacities; from continued residential Plumbing and HVAC Service, to the construction and maintenance of the DTE Monroe Coal and Fermi II Nuclear Power Plants. More recently, our members completed the Cabela’s Superstore and the Chrysler Engine Plant in Dundee as well as the renovation of the IHM Motherhouse and construction of the new La Z Boy World Headquarters here in Monroe.
We are proud to provide highly skilled Plumbers, Pipefitters, HVAC Service Techs, and Certified Welders to a wide range of customers and clients in our area and abroad. Our signatory contractors employ these qualified members who hold various certifications such as the OSHA 30 Hour Certification, Backflow Prevention, Industrial Rigging and Signalperson, Medical Gas Installer/Brazer License, Michigan Plumbing Licenses and a host of Welding Certifications to name a few.
Here at Local 671 we are very proud of our rich history over the course of our first eighty-two years. We look forward to the next eighty-two and beyond by providing the most highly skilled Craftsmen who train on the latest, cutting edge technologies available in the industry.
Through training our Apprentices through our US Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship program as well as with continuing education classes for our journeymen, we are able to provide our tradesmen and women with the best training in the industry.
Today, we are a growing organization representing over 350 members. As members, along with their families, they enjoy benefits administered by Local 671 such as excellent health insurance and two pensions that allow them to retire with dignity.
Local 671 is proud to support our local community by participating in events such as the recent Cultivate Community here in Monroe and we are also involved in several outreach programs for high school and college students.
We also support and promote legislation to further improve the living standards of all working families. We are proud to have made these commitments to better our members’ lives and all members our local community.
